With the growth of economy, great changes ha taken place in our daily lives in the past few years. A large number of families can afford a big house (villa) or cars. In the narrow point of view, some householders also can have a computer at least，because along with the rapid social changes of science and technology, computers can be one of the most useful instruments for business, home and school. Recently, I planed to buy a notebook computer in terms of the increasing task of study. , I did a lot to persuade my parents to permit me to buy and search much information of computer. Though there were a large number of questions, for instant that which brand I should choose, what range of cost my family could afford, how the after-sale service was and so on forth, I bought a computer with the brand of IBM finally, which makes me so excited and satisfied. I am willing to share my feelings of buying process with everybody now.
Buying computer is an extended decision making, whose definition of can be defined as the process of consumer plan to buy high level of purchase involvement, such as cars, houses, and personal computers, it always needs to do a lot of search, as well, take a long time to make decision. As I decided to buy a notebook computer, I had to think a lot due to multiple targets of computer brands I can shoot. Buying a computer is not as easy as buying a bottle of water, if you were not happy with the one you bought, you could have another try, in another word, it’s easy for you to buy different brands of water next time, but of computer it’s difficult.
Information search can be the first significant thing before I make decision. Firstly, I went to internet, referring to the searching website of Google, when typed “note book computer”, I got a lot of websites with what I want to look for. After that，I chose a authoritative computer testing website and typed the range of price, screen size, CPU, and other details, then it came out a number of other websites automatically, which showed me a list of computer brands up to my request with their basic information，such as Sony, Dell, BenQ, Lenovo.
Furthermore, for evaluation and selection one criteria I need to think about was the computer must have good quality and good looking. At the beginning I turned my eyes on Lenovo, there was two reasons tending to buy Lenovo product—Lenovo began to manufacture IBM computers this year which is a good proof of its hi-tech and good quality；moreover, my father had been using Lenovo for three years, comparably speaking , I had known more about Lenovo than others, however, but for its bad clumsy looking, maybe I would buy it. Besides, I thought about the brand of BenQ, two of my classmates had bought already, they are using with happiness and good remark , as well, I thought it a good choice for me through their reaction and feedback. Thirdly, I thought about the brand of SONY, because it has good-looking, also the quite light weight, but I don’t like Japanese, their products included, so I gave up that choice. For Dell, the website showed that it was cheap, and had good facilities, also supported good after service, but the discuss forums said that it almost had no disadvantage except that after the years of warranty, every problem always occurs upon itself. After finishing looking over these many websites, I got a big shock. I thought buying computer through checking information from internet is much easier than to go to retails to ask information, I became more confused and had no idea which deserved to buy, and then I asked my friend for help. I thought she may had experience or idea about buying notebook computer, because he just bought one this year. She suggested me to buy the brand of IBM, which has famous brand, good after selling service, as well, the perfect reputation, which is regarded as the first brand in computer field. I also had appreciated that brand for a long time. I began to concentrate on it and decide to buy it primarily.
In my opinion, the decision sequences can be the brand first, outlet second, only I know what kind of brand shall I buy, and can I choose the way to buy it. After I make sure what brand to buy, I began to hunt which way to buy. My friend told me that besides the common channel to sell, IBM were sold by some private retailer, which is a kind of computer having the same good quality, but much more cheaper owing to some special reason : the retailer got that kind of computer from the country which do not need to pay tariff—like HongKong. I was so happy about the news. At last, I choose a retailer from internet called Flyiky, which have good reputation I can believe in based on another long time researching on net.
When I made decision to buy IBM in Flyiky, I began to look the discussion forums, they had quite a lot forum and topics, to my surprise, there were no negatives, and I checked all of the speakers’ IP address, due to their lying, there were all from different IP adress. So, I believed the store of Flyiky was a real good one. I got through the phone number, and asked them whether they had the model I was willing to buy , and they said Yes! Meanwhile, I asked them which way of paying I should choose, and whether I can use EFPOST there or not, for the reason that I wanted to make sure the big amount of money safe. They told me they only receive cash. On the weekend, I took the cash to buy. After I got there, they had prepared a computer for me to check. I examined the screen, surface appearance, and Series Number, and something else, everything was ok! I decided to pay money. For now, I still feel happiness of my cool computer, because it makes my study so effective and efficient, especially for writing assignment, saving a lot of time. On the other hand, I also take the perceive risk, such as if the computer seriously broken, I need to take it back to HongKong to repair, I not only need to pay the repair fees, but also need to afford the post fees. Fortunately, I am not worry about the social risk, because IBM has a high recognized guarantee of quality, and the model of computer is pretty good-looking and cute. I have seen many film stars using the same model IBM computer as mine.
I am still quite happy with my purchase, at present I plan to use it about 4 years, and then transfer to my father, because he likes computer too, and always play some online computer games, but that kinds of games do not need high facilities, but it will be enough to cope with all the usual games after four years. When father will retire, I give my computer to my father for relax. If my father does not like my computer any more, I will take the hard disk out and change it into mobile storage.
