Important information for KLP Lenovo T60 students
Kellogg students,
Kellogg Information Systems would like to inform you of a newly available software fix for the Kellogg Laptop Program Lenovo T60 laptop. This fix is intended to eliminate a blue screen error that students have reported.
This fix changes an Intel wireless power setting that should eliminate the specific type of blue screen error the KLP T60 community has experienced. The blue screen error displays text containing the words “Memory Parity Error” or “Hardware Error”. The Intel wireless power setting change should help prevent the blue screen error. This change should not cause any performance issues or noticeably impact battery life.
How to get the fix via KelloggConnect
In order to receive the fix all students with the KLP Lenovo T60 laptop should run KelloggConnect now. If you are off-campus, you will need to connect to NU VPN before running KelloggConnect.
You only need to run KelloggConnect once and the fix will be applied. No restart is necessary.
About the fix
Kellogg Information Systems has been working closely with Lenovo’s engineers for the past 8 months in order to pinpoint the cause of these specific blue screen errors. However, only recently were Lenovo’s engineers able to provide a solution in the form of this change to the Intel wireless power setting.
We understand that students who have experienced these blue screen errors have been inconvenienced and frustrated. Kellogg Information Systems will continue to make every effort to anticipate all issues with the KLP laptop and communicate necessary information when available. Lenovo, Intel and KIS apologize for any inconvenience these errors may have caused.

If, after running KelloggConnect and applying the fix, you experience any blue screen errors please stop by Kellogg Information Systems as we want to know. Further blue screens may be indicative of other hardware or software problems unrelated to this issue, but in either case we would like to take a closer look.
